I grew up in Jackson, MS. I became a Christian at the age of 9, at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Jackson, MS. Since my dad and his brothers had all graduated from MSU, I grew up attending MSU sporting events and cheering for the Bulldogs. After graduating from MSU, I moved to Fort Worth, Texas and enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since my first job as BSU Director at Cedar Valley Community College in Lancaster, TX, I have enjoyed working with students at San Antonio College, Palo Alto College, Pearl River Community College, USM, & MSU. I married my wife, Carol, in 1987, and have two wonderful children. My daughter, Noel, and her husband, Matt, live in Boston, Massachusetts. Our son, Nathan, lives in Fort Worth, Texas.
I enjoy all MSU sports and have recently made 3 trips to Omaha to see the Diamond Dogs play. My favorite sport is basketball and my favorite player is Nathan Ball. I enjoy watching movies, especially suspense movies. My all-time favorite tv show is 24. I enjoy all styles of music and especially like Broadway musicals. Two things that are very important to me are relationships and people. I value my family and the many close friends that stretch around the globe. I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures. I love to snow ski in Colorado, go to the mountains & the beach. Some of my favorite foods include: ribs, whole fried catfish & hushpuppies, Massaman curry, caramel cake, pound cake, chocolate chip cookies, homemade bread, & good milkshakes!
The mission statement for the MSU BSU is to help students to know Christ and to make Him known. It is my passion to mobilize students to share the Gospel to all nations… until all have heard.
