Family Groups
WHAT ARE FAMILY GROUPS?
Family groups are small groups for freshman and transfer students. Each group has a male and female leader and the group meets together once per week for Bible study, fellowship, etc. for the first three months of the fall semester. We call them family groups because the idea is that this small group of people would become your “family away from family” while you are transitioning into your time at State. Though the groups are geared toward freshmen and transfers, other classifications such as sophomores, juniors, and seniors are welcome to join them as well.
HOW DO I JOIN A FAMILY GROUP?
Family groups originate with BASIC Training, our welcome event at the beginning of the fall semester. Students who attend BASIC are automatically placed in a group and that group continues to meet throughout the semester. If you would like to join a family group, even if you did not attend BASIC, contact Trevor Holland or Hannah Beth McCall.
