BASIC Training, for freshmen and transfer students entering MSU during the Fall 2012 semester, is tentatively planned for Friday and Saturday, August 17-18, 2012. Mark your calendars now! Look for more detailed information, including registration details, in late Spring 2012.
What is BASIC?
BASIC Training is our before school kickoff event catered just for freshmen and new transfer students. During these two days, we plug all new students into a family group led by other BSU students and facilitate their adjustment to campus life and Starkville with games, family group activities, and tips about college life.
What to expect...
BASIC training will be a great way to involve yourself in an awesome Christian community. In addition, BASIC will make it easier to get plugged in because every participant in BASIC is just as new as you are to MSU. Even if you're shy, you don't have to worry about being anybody but yourself when you come to the BSU. You'll feel at home right off the bat, and you'll be surprised at the number of friends you'll make during these two days.

- Find out which Starkville church suits you best by visiting local Baptist churches.
- Save those Ramen Noodles because local churches will be cooking up home-cooked meals throughout the weekend!
- We've got fun and exciting games planned that will let you hang out with some cool new friends while learning the campus and city of Starkville!
- Family Group Bible studies are a great way to grow in your faith and also have a good time while meeting new people similar to you. We'll get you plugged into a family group right away at BASIC Training!
